Zebra Baby Shower Cake:
This was a baby shower cake for one of my co-workers. We had the shower at my school after work and it was a lot of fun. I absolutely love doing the zebra print so I enjoyed making this cake. Congratulations Nikki on your new baby girl!

Spiderman Cake:
This was a cake for a little boy named Matthew that was turning 5. He loves Spiderman so his mom had requested a Spiderman themed cake. She didn't want anything "over-the-top" so I kept it to one layer and did some piping work. I had never really done anything quite like this but I was happy with it in the end. I hope you had a great birthday Matthew!

Oldies Themed Cake:
I really enjoyed making this cake. It was a lot of fun. This was for a woman that was turning 50 and they were throwing a 50's themed party. I had gotten some inspiration from online and I loved how it turned out! Happy Birthday!!

Mermaid Cake:
Happy Birthday Luz! This was for a little girl who wanted a mermaid themed cake. I was able to work on this during the Christmas break so I had plenty of time to work and take my time. I loved not feeling rushed!  haha    This was my first time ever molding a figure. I was pretty happy with how she turned out and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The mermaid was a little chunkier that I wanted but....its all good. =)   I was happy with how it turned out....

Baby Shower Cake:
This cake was based off a picture of the baby's nursery. The colors were a little off but it was the closest I could get. I had a lot of fun doing each square for the top layer. My sister from Canada was here while I was working on this cake and she was able to help me out a whole lot. Thank you for staying up super late with me sis! I don't mean this in a bad way....but I was glad to hear that the mom-to-be cried when she saw the cake.   haha   I'm not sure why is looks so "squaty" in the pictures but whatev. Congratulations on the new addition to the Dobson family!

Golf Cake:
Happy 18th Birthday Rob! My little brother is totally obsessed with golf. Therefore, I had no other choice to make him a golf themed birthday cake. It was only for a couple of my family members so it was pretty small. It was pretty last minute but he loved it so it was all good. Love you little bro!!

Pink Polo Shirt Cake:
Here is my third Polo shirt cake. This was a birthday cake for a teenage boy. It is almost old habit for me to do these cakes now. Each one has gotten easier and easier. I hope you enjoyed it. Happy Birthday!

Football Helmet Cake:
I was able to make this helmet cake for a person my boyfriend works with. He was all excited about his first referral and I was very thankful! I love you Tyler Thompson!! Anyways, this Philadelphia Eagles cake was almost the death of me! First off, it took me forever to try to carve the round shape. I still never got it to look quite the way I wanted. Then, we worked forever trying to mix the perfect color blue-green that would match the original helmet. I had already made the face mask two days before out of gum paste so that it would be completely dry. Once the helmet was covered, I realized that the face mask was way too tall and it did not fit with the look of the helmet. The night before it was due the next day at 4:00 PM, I attempted to make a new face mask. It seemed to be doing okay when I got it in place but when I tried to move it closer, it broke! Tyler cut down the one that was too big and it actually looked better than the new one I had made but eventually that one broke! So, unfortunately, I ended up having to hot glue the broken piece back on. It didn't look too bad but I was pretty sad about it...

  Cupcakes: Go Dawgs!
This was my first cupcake order! I was glad to be able to do this for a special little boy's birthday. I copied a cupcake collar I had seen online to place around the bigger cupcake with the Georgia symbol. The footballs were made out of fondant and so was the big "G." I loved doing these and I hope I can get more cupcake orders in the future.

Coach Purse Cake:
Here is my second purse cake. This one went a little smoother in comparison to the other zebra and blue one due to the fact that I already knew how to carve the shape I wanted. I tried a little different handle on this one and it was a lot easier. Hand-cutting all the letters were quite a pain but I came up with a system that worked. The lady this was for had sent me a picture of a similar cake but in a different color. She requested that it be pink. The pictures make it look flatter than it was. It was actually around 6 inches high. Overall, I was pleased with how it turned out...

Cake with the Kids

I was able to watch my nieces and nephew from Canada for a week while their parents were gone and we made a cake to give them when they got back. We ended up making a cake that showed what all we did during the week. We did things like going to Dairy Queen, Chuck E. Cheese, Monkey Joe's, Noah's Ark, fishing, and having a bonfire with s'mores. We had a wonderful week and it was a blast having them help with the cake. They actually came up with a lot of good ideas and were able to do a lot of the parts on their own. It was great having them here. I miss and love you guys!

My First Cake Ever!
I just realized today that I had not uploaded this picture onto here. This is the first specialty cake I ever attempted. I had been watching "Cake Boss" and "Ace of Cakes" all week long, so I decided to give it a try. Looking back now....its hilarious to think of all the things that I did wrong with this cake but, hey, that is what we make mistakes for....to learn from them.
